Here’s What Makes Our Experience Special!
We docked at Bonaire while on our Caribbean cruise. We just wanted to get off the ship to stretch our legs and get some walking in.
Along the way, however there were no less than ten different kiosks that offered taxi tours of the area. Each of the kiosks looked a little different and each of their placards had a different list of what they would do.
I watched how each person promoted what they offered. Most of the kiosks had a least two people (some may have been spouses that owned their tour businesses.
Each of them had their own way of drawing you into what they were doing. I was listening to the opening lines that each person used. The ones who kept it friendly, brief and had a good price got the most action.
The ones that had no one stop by their booth were the ones who said nothing. They simply stared out at the ocean and waiting for people to come to them.
If you want to get business in today’s world, l suggest you use this formula:
—Be sincere and friendly in your welcome to people
—If you notice something special about them or perhaps their children— say it.
—Make sure your offer is short and fully understandable
—Show them what it will feel like if they use your product or service
—Make them an offer that they can’t refuse
—Invite them back so that you develop a relationship, not just a one-time encounter
