It’s Time to Have Some Fun… DON’T BE A PENNY-PINCHER
I had a client who really had trouble spending a few dollars for an outside event for his team. They wanted to go to paintball range. They had done it once before and had a blast. They often talked about how much fun it was.
Years later they had several new members on the team, but the employer was so focused on making the revenue goals, they just didn’t spend time to spend about $500 to make this event possible.
Finally, one of the leaders in the organization pushed them into it. They scheduled the event and then invited the boss to it. Both the boss and the team had a wonderful time. They laughed, played, and dined together. It was an experience that will be hard to beat— but the CEO is bound a determined to do something next year so that they team can unwind.
Here’s the essential thing that happened: After having this experience together and getting to know each other, team members started to support each other in their work and achieve goals that they had never achieved prior to that.
What is the next experience you are going to create for your team? They’ve worth every penny you spend.
