There’s Nothing that Has to Be Done Right Now
We move at such a fast pace. There are always things to do for work, for home, or for someone else.
So the question is this: Do you have some time where there is nothing to be done? Of course we know there is always something you could do, but do you allow yourself to feel like you could take a break to enjoy something special? Can you use this time for some “me” time?
This doesn’t have to be a big block of time—just something that is available to you, whether you are mid-way through the workday or enjoying your weekend.
What do you do during this time where nothing has to be done?
— Call someone you haven’t talked to in a long time.
— Read a few pages in a book you’ve started.
— Sit on a park bench and “people watch”.
— Have a beverage you’ve never tried before.
— Go outside and listen to all the sounds around you.
Be sure that you are taking some deep breaths and really savor these moments. You’ll appreciate them before you get back to work.
